Services

A plan just for you.

Our clinic provides a wide range of dental treatments for the entire family. We start with a comprehensive dental exam, and once a proper diagnosis and prognosis is reached, a treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs.

Hygiene

We encourage regular dental cleanings in the office. Our highly trained dental hygienists do regular cancer screenings, check the overall health of teeth and gums, offer tips and advice to maintain your oral health, update x-rays, and assist Dr. Crooks during routine dental exams. We offer digital x-rays, which have a much lower radiation exposure.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Crooks has completed courses at The Las Vegas Institute and can help you achieve the beautiful smile that you have always wanted. Options for cosmetic dentistry include all porcelain crowns for teeth which are bonded into place. This type of treatment is highly aesthetic, and can be used to align teeth, replace broken or worn down teeth, or simply enhance the smile that you already have.

Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy is required for several reasons; it could be due to trauma, decay, or an infection within the tooth. In our office we use a rotary root canal system. The rotary root canal system is a slow moving hand piece, which allows files to clean out the roots and nerve of the tooth. This hand piece works a lot like a grain auger. In most cases a root canal is completed with just one visit, and often a permanent restoration such as a crown is required.

Crown & Bridge

A crown or “cap” is a full coverage permanent restoration. This type of restoration covers the entire tooth and provides the tooth with strength, so it can be used as if it was natural tooth in the mouth that can withstand the forces of chewing. A crown may be required in several situations: a tooth that has been treated with a root canal, a tooth with excessive decay, and a tooth that has had a large filling placed.

A bridge is placed to replace a missing tooth. A crown is placed on each side of the space where a missing tooth is, and a tooth is attached to each remaining tooth to fill in or “bridge” the space.

Implants

A dental implant is an artificial root made of titanium metal. It is inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of the natural tooth. An artificial replacement tooth is attached to the implant. The implant acts as an anchor to hold the replacement tooth in place.

If you do choose to proceed with this type of procedure, our office will arrange a referral to a periodontist. At the periodontists office the implant is placed. There will be a healing time of approximately 6 months. Once the strength test is complete the implant will then be restored. This service is provided in office with Dr. Crooks, it involves an appointment where an impression of the implant and teeth are taken, and then a follow-up appointment where the final restoration is then placed.

TMJ

TMJ stands for Temporomandibular Joint and Muscle Disorders. TMJ treatment is associated with the relationship of your muscles, joints, and teeth all working together. This is called neuromuscular dentistry. With this type of treatment a variety of symptoms can be treated, including headaches, jaw and joint pain, clicking, popping, ringing in ears, loose teeth, teeth with excessive wear, sensitivity, clenching, grinding, chewing difficulties facial pain, as well as head and neck discomforts.
Treatment involves two phases. Phase I involves finding the comfortable positioning of the muscles, teeth, and joints using a TENS machine. A TENS machine (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) sends gentle electrical stimulation to gently relax your muscles. Once this position is found where the muscles are in harmony, an orthotic is worn. An orthotic is very similar to a retainer. You will have a treatment time outlined individually for you where you will be required to wear the orthotic, during this time it will be determined if this relieves your symptoms.
Once Phase I treatment is complete you can then proceed to Phase II, where you will restore your natural teeth to maintain the new bite position.

Whitening

In most cases, the natural colour of teeth is within a range of light greyish-yellow shades. Teeth naturally darken with age and their appearance can be affected by the accumulation of surface stains acquired from the use of tobacco products and the consumption of certain foods or drinks.
We offer take home whitening at our office. With this procedure impressions are taken and custom whitening trays are then made. You then will complete the treatment at home with a whitening gel.

Sports Guards

Patients of all ages require sports guards to protect their teeth and gums, as well a concussion preventative for many sports. In our office we can provide you with custom fit mouth-guards.
